Introduction to a Botox ProcedureThe botox procedure starts by taking a medical history, going through a consent form, and dealing with any questions the client has about the Botox procedure itself.Anaesthetic CreamThis is Emla Cream, which is applied to the face to numb it and make the procedure more comfortable for the client.Photo and face mapI always take before and after photos for the client. This allows the client to see a before and after picture. I mark the areas where I'm going to do the injections with a face marker.Injecting BotoxWe always have to make sure we're going into the muscle we're trying to freeze. By pinching the skin it makes the procedure more comfortable for the client. The resulting bumps on the forehead will go down after 10 minutes or so of moving the face around. This movement helps the Botox move into the areas we want to freeze.Clean up and finishI'm going to clean up the markers. As you can see, there's no bleeding or bruising. This is a lunchtime procedure.Post-operative instructionsWhen we've finished the Botox procedure, the client must move their face around for a while. For the first 3-4 hours don't do any kind of exercise and keep moving the muscles of the face around.
